Van Dyke is a handsome boy with the coloring of a Starbucks Frappucino, and when he splashes through the mud (which he does as often as possible!) he looks like the barista added some chocolate chips to make him even more appealing. Van Dyke can usually be found right in the middle of any fun that's going on, whether that's chasing a ball or splashing in the little blue wading pool. He's happy to get his share of attention from his humans, but he's not terribly demanding. Between his good looks and his easy-going personality, you're sure to become just as addicted to Van Dyke as to your morning cuppa java.

Van Dyke and his siblings were born on 4/30/2014 at Windsong Ranch, the home of Bluebonnet Animal Rescue. Mom Ginger was surrendered to us by a goat rancher who let her get pregnant then didn't want to deal with the results. He threatened to shoot her, figuring that one bullet would take care of Ginger AND all her puppies. Thankfully, the rancher's daughter convinced him to surrender the VERY pregnant dog to rescue. We picked her up on Saturday, and on Wednesday, Ginger delivered a BIG litter of puppies. We were told that mom Ginger is half Great Pyrenees, and we guess that Van Dyke's dad must be Anatolian Shepherd.

Van Dyke has spent most of his time in our pasture with the other livestock guardian dogs, but also has spent time in the house. He is safe with livestock and with chickens. Van Dyke is on heartworm prevention, has been neutered and microchipped, and is ready to join your family today!
