Won't you think about adopting me?
Heineken came from a home with Boer goats, then went to a foster home with chickens, geese, and a turkey, and now he is at Windsong Ranch, living in the pasture under the supervision of our best LGD Miss Rennie. Heineken is very respectful of our Nigerian Dwarf goats, which is probably thanks at least in part to the lessons he learned growing up with Boer goats, whose size makes them much more intimidating than our little goats.
Heineken is scheduled to be neutered in December and will be available for adoption after that's done. If you want to adopt Heineken as a future LGD, we will require that you either have an experienced LGD to supervise and mentor him, or that you have the right set-up and the time to devote to continuing his training so that he has the best chance of succeeding. He may be a big boy, but he is still a pup, and we won't put him into a situation where he may fail simply because of lazy humans. He has had an excellent start, and shows the potential to be an amazing LGD when he matures.
If Heineken sounds like the right dog for you, and you are committed to helping him "Be all that he can be," you can read about our adoption process and submit your application here: https://www.bluebonnetrescue.org/info/adoption.
